Cost Accountant

Job Title: Staff/Cost Accountant

Department: Finance

Reports to: Controller

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary

Uncle Ray’s has completed a second manufacturing plant and a cost accountant is needed. The candidate will work directly with procurement, warehousing, operations, sales, and management. A strong technology background as well as experience within manufacturing is a must. If you are dedicated to producing results with a growing company, consider joining our team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor unit cost variances for two facilities, and update standard cost for components & finished goods
• Scheduling, organizing, and conducting monthly inventories
• Review physical inventory variances monthly
• Reviewing receipts and cycle counting to improve warehouse accuracy of both raw materials and finished goods
• Review and maintain profitability metrics by customer
• Month end journal entries and G/L account reconciliation support
• Organizing, preparing & maintaining financial records
• Monitor budget variances and analyze production costs
• Ad hoc reports & process improvements
• Assist Controller with budgets, costs, and other financial data
• Assist with Federal, State, and local tax compliance
• Working directly with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as needed
• Working on external and internal audits

Qualifications and Skills

• BS in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree is preferred
• Work experience as a cost accountant & strong G/L aptitude preferred
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like Microsoft Navision a plus
• Strong MS Excel knowledge
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Flexibility to travel as needed to alternate manufacturing facility

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
