Who are we looking for …
Uncle Ray’s Is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor in our Detroit MI facility to support our evolving Quality Assurance team. We’re looking for a candidate who has enthusiasm for learning new skills and helping people, as well as expertise in Quality Assurance in a Food Manufacturing environment.
As a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager, Production Management, Quality Assurance Team members and Packaging/Processing Team members.
A day in the life of a Quality Assurance Supervisor may look like …
- Gathering and Maintaining production records from Quality Assurance Auditors and Quality Assurance Technician(s)
- Training and assisting with training of Quality Assurance personnel as needed regarding their job function(s).
- Aiding with self-inspections, internal adults, and other SQF/Quality related procedures.
- Communicating with Management and Staff regarding self-inspections and internal audits.
- Keen awareness of food safety risks and following appropriate standard operating procedures in the event of ceasing production of any products impacted.
- Enforcing, Developing, and Implementation of Food Safety as it pertains to GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Procedures), HACCP Principles (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and SQF (Safe Quality Foods).
- Attend meetings and remain an active participant in all committees related to SQF, HACCP, Recall and Crisis Management.
- Ensure the metal detection CCP violations are logged and maintained. This will include organizing assigning CAR #’s
- Help with withdrawal, recall, quarantine, and the disposition of a product.

These skills and disciplines are just a few to mention, candidates should have a High School Diploma and some college coursework. The Quality Assurance Supervisor should have at least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing is preferred). Practical QA experience is preferred. Previous Leadership experience is a plus.
